Women's Clubs, Women's Auxiliary to St. Joseph's Hospital, Huntingdon Club, George Washington Bicentennial Commission, Girl Scouts of America, Women's Auxiliary to the Georgia Medical Society, Women's Auxiliary to the Medical Association of Georgia, Tallulah Falls Industrial School, Catholic Women's Club, Red Cross First-Aid Classes, Audubon Society, War Camp Community Service. Miss Heyward was active in the Georgia Society of Colonial Dames of America. These papers are yearbooks, reports, constitutions and by-laws and some miscellaneous papers. Also included are programs of annual meetings of Georgia State Federation of Colored Women's Clubs, 1921, 1928, and 1930. As Maude Heyward was a librarian at the Savannah Public Library and a genealogist for the Colonial Dames of America, these materials are assumed to have been collected by her.

Elise Heyward Howkins (d. 1942) and Maude Heyward (1872-1942) were the daughters of J. Guerard and Pauline Heyward. Both women were active in the Savannah, Georgia social scene and were members of several women's clubs. Elise Howkins was the president of the Savannah Federation of Women's Clubs from 1917-1942.
